Dr. Billingsley has been involved in dentistry for over twenty-seven years. Prior to achieving her doctor of dental surgery degree she spent seven years working as a dental hygienist learning many important aspects of patient care. This dedication to the dental profession shines through, the moment you meet her.
Her kind, caring and compassionate manner allows her to treat even the most dental phobic patients. Dr.Billingsley studied art studio for 18 years and is an accomplished water color artist. This training enhances her ability to provide excellent cosmetic dental care. She has many other accomplishments within the field of dentistry including owning two patents for dental instruments. Dr. Billingsley also conducts mission trips to the Appalachian mountains yearly. She also is very active in the DAR and assists with Veteran Hospital volunteer endeavors.
From 2006 until 2008 Dr. Billingsley was President of the Virginia Academy of General Dentistry and is presently a delegate and Board member. She is the Chairman of the Education Committee for the IAOMT. She has achieved her fellowship in the American Academy of General Dentistry as well as her accreditation with the International Academy of Oral Medical Toxicology. In addition, Dr. Billingsley is certified in Sedation Dentistry and maintains active memberships with the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and the Academy of Holistic Dentistry. She is also an instructor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Dr. Billingsley has also been awarded her Naturopathic MD enhancing her biological dentistry skills.
Dr Billingsley Graduated from undergrad with Honors from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, practiced as a dental hygienist for 5 years and then graduated from the Medical College of Virginia-School of Dentistry Cum Laude where she received the Highest honor in Pediatric Dentistry and the PD Miller Award for outstanding Restorative/Periodontal Treatment. Dr. Billingsley funds a scholarship annually to VCU School of Dentistry for a student with financial need. Dr Billingsley is on the Board of Directors for the J Sargeant Reynolds Dental Assisting Program. She is married to John Billingsley III and has one son, Jay, who is attending pharmacy school in the fall and she has one Maltese puppy.
